As world leaders including United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon gather on 10-12/2013 in Johannesburg for Nelson Mandela's memorial service, the Universal Postal Union pays tribute to Madiba with this visual presentation of stamps issued in his honour over the years.
UPU Director General Bishar A. Hussein joins the UN family to convey the organization’s condolences to Mr Mandela’s family and the people of South Africa.
“The tremendous sacrifices he made for his ideals will remain forever etched in our memories and inspire us all to work for a better world,” said Hussein in his letter to South African President Jacob Zuma.
