As per Holiday List for 2012, 08.03.2012 is declared as Holiday on account of Holi. Several queries have been made whether the date can be changed to 09.03.2012 on which Holi will be practically observed in Odisha Circle. It is understood from the Circle Office that there will be no change in the date of Holiday on account of Holi already declared. That means, 08.03.2012 will be observed as Holiday on account of Holi in Odisha Circle. This is in accordance with the instruction contained in DOPT Letter No.F.12/3/2011-JCA-2 dated 27.06.2011 which stipulates that no change is permissible in regard to festival and dates (except Muslim festivals which depend on the appearance of moon.)
It is to metion that in addition to 14 National Holidays the following 3 Holidays and dates have been decided by the CGEWCC, Bhubaneswar.
1. Holi on 8/3/2012
2.Rath Yatra on 21/6/2012
3.Dussehera on 22/10/2012.
The CGEWCC, Bhubaneswar should have decided the date as 9/3/2012 instead of 8/3/2012 initially, since no change is permissible in regard to festival and dates thereafter.

Is there any forum to take up the
issue at Dte level?
Dear Secretary ji...
Berhampur Region is unique region in India by giving cash award of Rs.4000/- each to all its System administrators irespective of their term including Incharge WCTC and OA Help Desk. What a great achivement. Why not applicable for other regions.
SA
It is a good thing done by PMG Berhampur. This Association is not in a position to answer why this facility cannot be extended to other Regions as the matter is beyond the jurisdiction of this Association. It is for the Gr.C Union to take up the cases of HQ and Sambalpur Region with the concerned administrative head.
