The issue of honorarium has been under active discussion in the Association forum for sometime now. At present an invigilator is paid @ Rs.20/- per session subject to maximum of Rs.40/- per day. This amount has been continuing since 1972 without any revision. Our GS has written to Secretary (Posts) on 01.11.2010 for enhancement of the amount at least on par with what is being paid by the SSC. Directorate’s response to the issue is awaited.
While we cannot shy away from our responsibility of discharging invigilation duty, it is within our rights not to accept the paltry sum being paid as honorarium in order to protest against the injustice and humiliation meted out to us.
Pending decision in the ensuing Circle Working Committee meeting, I appeal to all our members of Odisha Circle to refuse acceptance of the honorarium for invigilation duty at the present rate till it is not enhanced to a reasonable amount.

The idea of this type of protest is befitting one.CS is requested to write a formal letter to the Circle/regional administrators indicating our mode of protest.For wider mandate, CWC meeting be called immediately.
